PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which can reduce the generation of noise without increasing an electric power consumption and its driving method. SOLUTION: In driving the liquid crystal display device, a driving period when counter electrode is driven and a driving stop period when the counter electrode are not driven are prepared within one frame period. In the driving period, a data signal DATA 2 is outputted at the same frequency as the driving frequency of the counter electrode to a video signal line driving circuit.
