PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curable resin composition excellent in basic performances such as transparency, heat resistance and moisture resistance, and suitably applicable to various uses such as an optical use such as a lens; an optodevice use; a display device use; a mechanical part material; an electric/electronic part material; an automobile part material; a civil engineering and construction material and a molding material; and to provide a curable material for an optical member, and an optical member. SOLUTION: This curable resin composition including a resin component and a cation polymerization initiator further includes a metal oxide particle containing at least one metal element selected from the group consisting of Ti, Zr and Zn; where the resin component essentially comprises a cation-polymerizable compound containing in its molecule at least one group selected from the group consisting of an oxetane ring, epoxycyclohexane ring, dioxolan ring, R1R2-C=C-O group (provided that R1and R2are same or different and each denotes a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group), and styryl group.
