<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for searching a lymphocyte chemoattractant factor and a method for using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The purified DNA encoding a LCF and the recombinant protein expressed from such DNA are disclosed. The LCF fragment or analog exhibits a LCF agonist or antagonist activity. The method for suppressing a LCF-CD4 interaction and the method for screening a candidate LCF agonist or antagonist are provided.
