A detecting method of an obscene character image and an apparatus thereof for reducing a time for detecting obscene character image are provided to detect the obscene character image easily by an image determining unit. An obscene image discriminating unit(20) classifies an obscene character image file and non- obscene character image file. A group image classifying unit(50) classifies the image stored in an image database(40) into a category-classified group. The group image classifying unit selects a representative image in a category group. The group image classifying unit measures similarity with the other images in an individual category group. According to the group image classification unit is the measured similarity, images belonging to the individual category group are arranged. A detection unit detects the obscene character image with a computer in which an image view program is performed. |
