<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an optically active biaryl compound. <P>SOLUTION: This method for producing the optically active biaryl compound represented by formula (4) (wherein, R<SP>2</SP>is fluorine, cyano group, nitro group, a substituted or nonsubstituted linear or branched alkyl group, a substituted or nonsubstituted cycloalkyl group, an aryl group, a heterocyclic group, or the like; R<SP>3</SP>is an aryl or heteroaryl group, or the like; R* is a substituent having at least one asymmetric carbon; neighboring substituents on the benzene ring in formula (4) may form a condensed polycyclic aromatic ring with the benzene ring by bonding to each other) involves reacting an aromatic sulfonic acid ester compound represented by formula (1) (wherein, R<SP>1</SP>is an alkyl or an aryl group) with an organoboron compound represented by formula (2) or a boroxin ring compound represented by formula (3) at ≤70°C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
