PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for reducing the dullness of the potential to be input to a wire such as a gate line on an active matrix substrate, driving the wire at high speed, and narrowing the frame.SOLUTION: An active matrix substrate 20a is provided with a gate line group 13G and a source line group. The active matrix substrate 20a is further provided with a gate driver 11 including a plurality of switching elements, at least some of which are formed in a pixel region, and outputting a scan signal to the gate line 13G, and a wire 15L1 for supplying control signals to the gate driver 11. Control signals are supplied from a display control circuit 4 outside the display region to each gate driver 11 through the wire 15L1.
