PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic sensitive body which has a high sensitivity and excellent durability and above all, potential stability during durable use by using a specific disazo pigment in a photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:The disazo pigment expressed by formula I is incorporated into the photosensitive layer of the electrophotographic sensitive body having the photosensitive layer on a conductive base. In formula I, B denotes -O-, -S-, etc.; A and A' denote a residual coupler group having a phenolic OH group which may be the same of different. The electrophotographic sensitive body formed by using such disazo pigment can be made to have the central skeleton having the higher acceptor property than the photosensitive body having no substitution or having an electron donative substituent by introducing a cyano group having a strong electron-attraction property as an N-substituent on the central skeleton. The use of an electric charge transfer material having a relatively high oxidation potential is, therefore, enabled in the case of using the disazo pigment as the charge generating layer. The electrophotographic sensitive body having the high sensitivity and the stable potential characteristic is thus obtd. |
