<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte solution which restrains the gas generation at the time of high temperature preservation in a charged state for a secondary battery using a negative electrode active material containing at least one out of Si, Sn and Pb and which is effective for the improvement of cycle characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte solution used for a nonaqueous electrolyte solution secondary battery is provided with a positive electrode having a positive electrode active material that can store/release metal ions, a negative electrode having a negative electrode active material containing at least one kind of atom that is selected from a group consisting of Si, Sn and Pb.
