PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent any damage on the pharynx caused by insertion of a pharynx mask by branching a guiding device into one pair of arms present along both opposite sides of an air passage in a dental region and making thickness of the arms equal to a diameter of the air passage. SOLUTION: A guiding device 1 is made of a soft plastic material such as PVC. A patient side end or tip 10 of the guiding device is rounded. A channel part 12 is present along most part of total length of the guiding device 1 and curved at a specified radius of curvature. The channel part 12 is opened to an inside of the curve. A biting block area 20 is connected with a mechanical end of the channel part 12 at an opposed side of the patient side end 10. The mechanical end is branched into two arms 22, 24. Thickness of the arms 22, 24 is set substantially equal to a diameter of an air passage 40. The arms have substantially circular cross sections. The arms 22, 24 are inclined in such a way to be separated from each other at an angle of about 50 deg.. At first, the arms are present in a flat plane contiguous to a flat plane containing the mechanical end of the channel part 12. |
