PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject controlling agent capable of effectively controlling thrips by including dichloro(dichloropropenyloxy)(trifluoromethylpyridinyloxypropyloxy)ben zene and an organic phosphorus-based compound as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: This controlling agent contains (A) 3,5-dichloro-1-(3,3-dichloro-2- propenyloxy)-4-[3-(5-trifluoromethylpyridin-2-yloxy)propyloxy]benzene and (B) an organic phosphorus compound, e.g. diethyl (dimethoxythiophosphorylthio) succinate, O,O-dimethyl O-4-nitro-m-tolyl phosphorothioate as active ingredients. The mixed ratio of the components A to B is preferably (1:99)-(80:20) expressed in terms of weight. The amount of the controlling agent to be applied is usually and preferably 0.1-100 g per 10 a.
