PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washstand having a slide mechanism that enables the mirror of the washstand or the like to move smoothly and to be stopped at the center of the washstand when in use. SOLUTION: This washstand has a slide mechanism whereby a guide attached to a moving element such as a mirror 2 is fitted over a projection provided at a guide groove 5 in a rail 3, so that the mirror 2 or the like can be temporarily stopped in a predetermined position on the rail 3. Thus when the mobile mirror 2 or the like of the washstand it can be stopped in the predetermined position.
