The front end of this motor car has a front module (1) which is mounted on a pair of lower longitudinal members (2) which carry the wheel arches (4). The cross member in the front module (1) is connected by energy absorption units (7) to the upper front of the wheel arches (4). The energy absorption unit (7) is in three sections. The front section (7b) is fixed to the front cross member, the rear section (7c) is welded to the wheel arch (4) and the central section (7a) is a hollow energy absorbing box section.
