PURPOSE: A method of producing rice containing herbal components of hwangryunjihwangtang which is described in the book of Eastern Medicare and has treating effect on hypertension and complications associated with hypertension by soaking rice in an herbal extract and then drying it is provided. The produced rice is effective in treatment of adult disease. CONSTITUTION: Rice is washed with water 3 to 4 times and soaked in the herbal extract for 12hr while turning upside down every 2hr and then dried for a predetermined period of time. For an example, 70g of Coptidis Rhizoma, 40g of Radix Rehmannia, 40g of Radix Trichosanthis, 40g of Schizandrae Fructus, 40g of Ginseng Radix, 40g of Puerariae Radix, 40g of Hoelen, 40g of Liriopis Tuber, 40g of Glycyrrhizae Radix, Zingiberis Rhizoma, Fructus Jujubae and Herba Lophatheri are mixed with 5L of water and extracted at 100deg.C for 3hr. Then, 800g of rice is mixed with 320g of the herbal extract while turning upside down every 2hr and dried with hot air at 60deg.C. The treated rice is mixed with 400g of the herbal extract and then dried.
