PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently deodorize odorous gas in a manhole and prevent deterioration of a deodorant filter due to water of rain or the like and exert deodorizing effect by blocking the flow of the odorous gas into a filter material till a specified pressure is attained when amount of the odorous gas is little. SOLUTION: The deodorizing device for the manhole comprises an outer cartridge 5 which has a cylindrical shape with a bottom and is filled with the deodorant filter 3 and further has at the center of the bottom part a device for a deodorization lid to be opened/closed by pressure of the odorous gas in the manhole; a filter member 2 comprising an inner cartridge 8 which has a cylindrical shape with a bottom and has air holes 6 at the bottom and is filled with the deodorant filter 7 and fitted in a top opening of the outer cartridge 5; and a support member 10 which holds and fixes the filter member 2 vertically at a necessary place in the manhole while the filter member 2 is kept air-tight.
