<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device capable of providing a stable servo signal by preventing the influence of stray lights from other layers on a focus error signal and tracking error signal during recording/reproducing in a multilayer optical disk. <P>SOLUTION: A reflected light from the multilayer optical disk is divided into a plurality of areas, divided luminous fluxes are focused on different positions of a photodetector, the focus error signal is detected by a knife edge method using a plurality of divided luminous fluxes, and a tracking error signal is detected by using the plurality of divided luminous fluxes. When a focus is on a target layer, the divided area of a luminous flux and a light receiving surface are arranged so as to prevent entry of stray lights from other layers to a light receiving surface for the servo signal of the photodetector. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
