A mail process method, and an intrusion prevention system using the same are provided to filter a harmfulness e-mail including a harmful program and restrict the reception of the harmfulness e-mail, thereby warning the danger of an attachment including a harmful pattern to a user. An E-mail transmitted and received is hooked(S10). The hooked E-mail is classified into one or more contents. The classified mail is compared with a harmful pattern stored in a pattern storage. In case the E-mail includes the harmful pattern as the comparison result, the attachment of the E-mail is deleted, and the attachment is converted into a text form(S28). The E-mail and the converted attachment are transmitted to an original mail server(S25). |
