<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium secondary battery capable of discharging at high temperatures, and of warning that there are nonconformities in a battery case by emanating odors, when the battery case is broken. <P>SOLUTION: This lithium secondary battery comprises a positive electrode, a separator, a negative electrode and an electrolyte layer; and in the lithium secondary battery, the electrolyte layer contains an ester compound of a fragrance ingredient, capable of giving out fragrance in battery breakage, and further, preferably, the ester compound has a boiling point of 140°C or higher, under atmospheric pressure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
