PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording device capable of controlling a recording condition according to an optical characteristic of an optical recording medium in which Low to High-recording is performed by using a DVD laser wavelength (640 to 680 nm) and to provide a preparing system of a write-once optical recording medium with a content recorded thereon.

SOLUTION: (1) The optical recording device can perform recording in the optical recording medium in which Low to High-recording is performed by using a DVD laser wavelength, detects a push-pull signal and/or a wobble frequency of a guide groove from a track error signal and controls recording condition based on the detection results to perform recording. (2) The optical recording device can performs recording in the optical recording medium in which Low to High-recording is performed by using the DVD laser wavelength, detects a push-pull signal and/or a wobble frequency of a guide groove from a track error signal and detects a medium reflectance and/or the number of reflection surfaces from a focus error signal or a reproduction signal and controls a recording condition based on the detection results to perform recording.
