GINKGO EXTRACT WITH LOW CONTENT OF 4'-O-METHYLPYRIDOXINE AND/OR BIFLAVONE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing a ginkgo leaf extract with reduced contents of 4'-O-methylpyridoxine and/or biflavones, to provide the extract, and to provide the use of the extract for preparing drugs or foods for the treatment of cognitive disorders and symptoms thereof and/or cerebral or peripheral blood circulation disorders.

SOLUTION: A multistage purification method which can reduce 4'-O-methylpyridoxine and/or biflavones in the ginkgo leaf extract by filtration through an adsorbent resin and/or an ion exchanger is provided. Further, the ginkgo leaf extract with reduced contents of 4'-O-methylpyridoxine and/or biflavones obtained by the method and use thereof are provided.
