<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system whose power consumption is suppressed. <P>SOLUTION: When it is confirmed that non-audible tones 73 and 76 are transmitted between an MFP 1 and a slave unit 51, the MFP 1 and slave unit 51 change from normal mode to power-saving mode. When the MFP 1 and slave unit 51 are operating in the power-saving mode, electric power supplied to wireless communication control circuits 22 and 60 are cut off and wireless communication 300 stops, so the power consumption for the wireless communication 300 is eliminated. Therefore, the power consumption of the MFP 1 and slave unit 51 is suppressed. Further, when it is confirmed that non-audible tones 73 and 76 are not transmitted between the MFP 1 and slave unit 51, the MFP 1 and slave unit 51 change to the standby mode, so the power consumption is more suppressed than when they are operating in the normal mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
