PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable displacement swash plate compressor including an oil separation chamber including an oil separator, and an oil storage chamber for storing separated oil, still capable of suppressing an increase in the physical size.SOLUTION: The single head variable displacement swash plate compressor includes an actuator 29 arranged in a swash plate chamber 16 and capable of changing the inclination angle of a swash plate 25, and a control mechanism 30 for controlling the actuator 29. In a rear housing 13, an oil separation chamber 43 is provided using an oil separator 41 for separating oil from refrigerant gas discharged from a discharge chamber 21. In the rear housing 13 having an annular recessed part 47, a partition plate 48 is provided for splitting the recessed part 47 in two in the axial direction. A suction chamber 20 is formed in the recessed part 47 ahead of the partition plate 48, and an oil storage chamber 49 is formed in the recessed part 47 behind the partition plate 48.
