PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relay device, a communication device, and the like for obtaining image data.SOLUTION: A relay device 200 is connected with a multifunctional device 100 and a service providing device 300 storing image data via a network. When the service providing device receives an electronic file request, it returns image data corresponding to a thumbnail URL to the multifunctional device. The multifunctional device 100 comprises a display unit for displaying an image formed with the image data. In addition, the multifunctional device 100 obtains image data from the service providing device on the basis of the thumbnail URL. The relay device receives a file selection screen request from the multifunctional device. In addition, the relay device obtains a thumbnail URL for obtaining image data at a data size suitable for the multifunctional device to output from the service providing device.
