A winding mechanism for manually raising and lowering clothes line 10, comprises a mounting bracket 17 securable to a pole or the like fixed structure 14 and a bent shaft 22 rotatable in said mounting bracket 17 by a handle 24. One end of the line is secured to a pole or the like fixed structure (12) and the other end is wound on shaft 22. The handle 24 is adapted to rotate and slide in handle tube 23, to engage the closed line 10 to hold it in a desired position. Means to hold shaft 22 in position are disclosed. <IMAGE> |
