PURPOSE: To obtain a roller which has a light weight and a sufficient rigidity by centering a metal casing such as a thin electrodeposited sleeve using journals and then filling the inside of the roller casing with a low density material. CONSTITUTION: A thin roller casing 30 is formed by electrodepositing a metal on a cylindrical metal die and then taking it out of the die. The roller casing is centered by attaching roller shafts 34 and 35 having a shape of journal on the both ends of the rollers casing. For a low density filling material, a set plastic foam or gas under pressure is used. A metal inner roller casing having the same center with the outer roller casing 30 can be used. A set foam product is introduced into the space 32 between the two casings through an inlet 36. The space 33 can also be filled with a set foam product, which is preferably a foam product having a higher density than the foam product in the space 32. |
