MOLD CLAMPING DEVICE OF TRANSFER MOLDING MACHINE

PURPOSE:To provide a miniaturized mold clamping device having a simple structure and to prevent the contamination of a molded product and the lateral shift of a lower mold mounting plate. CONSTITUTION:The stator 32 of an electromotive direct drive motor 31 is fixed on a base 11 and a nut 35 is fixed to the rotor 33 of the motor 31. The ball screw 36 threaded with the nut 35 is fixed to a lower mold mounting plate 14. By this structure, the rotation of the rotor 33 is converted to up and down movement to be transmitted to the lower mold mounting plate 14. The greater part of the up and down stroke of the lower mold mounting plate 14 is generated by the driving of the motor 31 but the final mold clamping pressure is generated by a hydraulic cylinder 25. By this constitution, different from such a case that the lower mold mounting plate 14 is driven by the motor 31 through a toggle mechanism, no force in a horizontal direction is applied to the lower mold mounting plate 14.
