<p>PURPOSE:To provide the subject tool consisting of a porous body using Al as a substrate and forming an alumina whisker in the outer surface part or the inner pore part, excellent in long-term storage effect on fresh foods such as vegetables and having simplicity applicable also to general homes. CONSTITUTION:The objective tool consists of a porous body using an aluminum or its alloy as a substrate and forming an aluminum whisker in at least part of the outer surface or the inner pore part and having globular, plate-like, horn-like or conical form capable of housing fresh foods in a storage cabinet. This tool is obtained e.g. by boiling a porous body consisting of a sintered compact of powdery or granular aluminum or of its alloy in a distilled water to form a water-containing alumina layer on the surface and then heating the alumina layer at 100-200 deg.C to form a whisker of alumina single crystal extremely finely grown.</p> |
