摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To obtain reinforcing materials for civil engineering works building which are right weight and not required to effect coating for anti-corrosion and which can be lapped round repairing parts readily by making reinforcing fibers and fiber bundles into a braided rope, wherein the latter consist of thermoplastic fibers having plasticity at the temperature lower than that of the fibers. CONSTITUTION:Fiber bundles 2 made by mixing plural reinforcing fibers with large tensile strength and thermoplastic fibers, or the fiber bundles of reinforcing fibers and the fiber bundles of thermoplastic fibers are fabricated into a braided rope like fiber body to thus be reinforcing materials 1. For example, in the case of reinforcing a cylindrical post, the reinforcing materials 1 are wound round the cylindrical post under tension at appropriate pitches. By a belt-like heater is wrapped thereupon, the thermoplastic fibers are melted or fusion-bonded on the reinforcing fibers and, when cooled, they become to have rigidity and thus do not meet each other easily. For such reinforcing fibers, carbon fibers, glass fibers, aromatic polyamide fibers and the like are employed. As thermoplastic fibers, they are selected from fibers which have plasticity at the temperature of 100 deg.C or lower than that of the heat resistive temperature of reinforcing fibers such as nylon or the like.</p>
