<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make gears to surely engage with each other in a parking lock mechanism and besides at that time a direction of moving the vehicle is directed in the direction in which an operator feels not uncomfortable, in a vehicle equipped with an electric motor capable of outputting motive energy. <P>SOLUTION: When a shift lever had been operated to a parking position and then a brake has been shifted into an off-state, in the case where a road surface gradient θ is positive, a negative given torque T1 is set in a motor torque command Tm2* (S140, S150) and in the case where the road surface gradient θ is negative, a positive given torque T2 is set in the motor torque command Tm2* (S140, S160). The torque corresponding to the torque command Tm2* that has been set is output over a given period of time t1 (S170 to S190).
