<p>A food oven has a door that is separated from the surrounding structure by a heat seal. The heat seal has a V, U or L-shaped profiled metal core (3) embedded within a polymer molding. The longitudinal core extends the length of the seal and incorporates a number of notches that engage with the surrounding polymer material. The memory effect core is of iron, steel, brass, aluminium or a high-temperature polymer. A polymer core is fabricated of polyamide, polyetherketone and/or polyphenyl sulfide, or liquid crystal polymer. The seal is fabricated by a co-extrusion process.</p> |
