The fuel cell system has fuel cell without partition for electrochemical combination of oxygen with externally supplied hydrogen to produce electricity, direct current and water as a product of reaction. The fuel contains hydrogen, such as a chemical hydride within the fuel tank, receives and reacts with the water to produce hydrogen, which is provided to the fuel cell to operate the fuel cell without external hydrogen. An independent claim is also included for the method for generating electricity. |
