<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing method used for a thermal printer, especially a pigment thermal transfer type printer wherein a curling of the thermal transfer receptive sheet after printing is small and appearance of the image receptive layer is good with no cracks thereby a printed material with an equivalent printing quality to that of a silver salt photograph is obtained. <P>SOLUTION: An image is formed on an image receptive layer overlapped on a pigment thermal transfer sheet by applying heat from the thermal head of a thermal transfer printer. The heat transfer receptive sheet being a roll, with the temperature of the image receptive layer after the thermal printing by the thermal head kept at higher than the glass-transition temperature of the base resin of the image receptive layer, the thermal transfer receptive sheet comes into contact with a decurler roll, and while it passes from the thermal head to the decurler roll, an adjustment is made so that a tension applied onto the thermal transfer receptive sheet is in a range from 80 to 300 N/m, thereafter curl correction is conducted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
