The method involves measuring respiratory gas flow, respiratory gas pressure, oxygen saturation or combination of the flow, pressure and saturation as a state value of a cardio-vascular system. A captured respiration parameter is compared with a reference value, and an adjustment signal is generated for a respirator assistance device (1) and/or a signal system with respect to the comparison.
