PROVISION OF SERVICE BY MULTI-FUNCTION PERIPHERAL (MFP)

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the optimum service matched with the request of the user of an MFP connected to a network.

SOLUTION: A method for providing the service by the multi-function peripheral (MFP) 10 includes: a step of receiving the request of the service; a step of receiving information 90 needed for executing the service from a communicable external apparatus 30; a step 50 of determining whether the MFP 10 itself is to execute a processing for providing the service, or the processing is to be executed in the external apparatus 30 on the basis of the received information 90; and a step of downloading an application 100 from the external apparatus when the MFP itself is to execute the processing and when it is not provided with the application 100 needed for the execution.
