<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lid member made of a shrink film which improves the sealability of a container containing food placed above the opening of the container. <P>SOLUTION: The lid member 10 is equipped with a top part 11, a skirt part 12 spreading downward from the peripheral edge of the top part 11, and an edge curling part 13 in which the lower edge of the skirt part 12 further spreads. The lid member 10 is covered over a container containing the food and then heat shrunk by a current of hot air blown against the lid member. In this case, the lid member 10 shrinks without interfering the food. Accordingly, it comes into close contact with the container and closes the container without leaving any empty space. In particular, when the film heat-shrinks, the edge curling part 13 causes a current of hot air, which has a tendency of staying in the empty space between the container and the skirt part, to escape outside.
