PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation device and sorting method that can sort out a sheet by a size or sheet quality from a bundle of printed documents in a time such as under a print in preparation, and the like without adding a sensor and the like.SOLUTION: An image formation device comprises: a sheet feed unit; a resist roller pair that conveys documents at a prescribed speed; first detection means that detects a passage of an end part of the document; an emission unit that emits the document; a plurality of ejection trays; storage means that stores characteristic information about the document accumulated in each of the ejection trays; movement means that moves the ejection tray to a prescribed position; a control unit; and input means. The control unit is configured to obtain a length of a conveyance direction of the document from a time until the document passes through the first detection means after reaching the first detection means, determine a sorting destination on the basis of the length of the conveyance direction of each document, the characteristic information preliminarily stored in the storage means or to be sequentially stored therein, and move the ejection tray of the sorting destination to a position opposing the emission unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
