Producing organic compound comprises (a) fermentatively converting biomass to volatile organic compounds in a bioreactor, (b) removing volatile organic compounds by gas-stripping using a carrier gas, (c) carrying out the adsorption of volatile organic compounds of the gas stream, (d) carrying out desorption of the adsorbed volatile organic compounds by an adsorber, and (e) catalytically converting the volatile organic compounds.
