A CPU 38 is connected via a first signal line 44A and a second signal line 45A to a first determination circuit 36 that is housed inside a sensor housing 15. The first determination circuit 36 is connected to first through fourth torque detection components 32a, 33a, 34a, 35a of a quadruple torque sensor 16 via first through fourth torque signal lines 46, 47, 48, and 49, respectively. Torque signals from the torque detection components 32a, 33a, 34a, 35a are determined as being normal or abnormal at the first determination circuit 36 according to a predetermined determination method. After this, two normal torque signals, which have been determined as being normal, are transmitted to the CPU 38 via the first signal line 44A and the second signal line 45A, respectively. |
