摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods for identifying autoreactive T cell populations from individuals having autoimmune diseases such as multiple sclerosis or autoimmune encephalomyelitis since peptoids recognized by autoreactive T cells can be used for identifying various types of autoimmune diseases and can also be used to target therapies against such populations.SOLUTION: The invention provides a method for identifying ligands that specifically recognized by autoimmune T cells, which method comprises the steps of: preparing a first T cell population derived from a healthy subject and labeled with a first detectable label, and a second T cell population derived from a subject having autoimmune disease and labeled with a second detectable label; contacting the first and second T cell populations with a plurality of candidate ligands; assessing the binding of the first and second populations to the candidate ligands to determine that, if a ligand binds to the second T cell population but not to the first T cell population, the ligand is recognized by autoimmune T cells but not by the healthy T cells.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
