PURPOSE:To obtain a purifying catalyst having adsorptivity for hydrocarbons to purify exhaust gas from inner combustion engine. CONSTITUTION:This purifying catalyst for exhaust gas having adsorptivity for hydrocarbons consists of a honeycomb carrier and coating layers. On the honeycomb carrier, there are provided a coating layer containing an adsorbent for hydrocarbons and an inorg. matter containing catalytic component, and on this layer, a coating layer containing an inorg. matter which adsorbs water. Or, there are provided a coating layer comprising an inorg. matter containing an adsorbent, and a coating layer thereon containing adsorbent for hydrocarbon, and further a coating layer containing an inorg. matter which adsorbs water. |
