<p>This invention comprises a purification plant for purifying waste water and recycling water from a small group of households, agricultural units, cabins and the like. If the plant receives only grey water, the plant should purify it to such an extent that the water can be re-used for watering, washing, flushing of toilets, etc. If the plant receives black water, the plant should purify it to such an extent that the effluent can be safely discharged into the environment. The plant is divided into three main parts; a sludge interceptor, a main filter with vertical unsaturated aerobic flow at the top and saturated anaerobic flow at the bottom of the filter, and a final filter with horizontal saturated anaerobic flow. As a final treatment the water is disinfected in order to remove bacteria. The filter plant is equipped with one or more buffer zones and overflow pipes between the main parts in order to give the plant the capacity to absorb extraordinary loads without untreated waste water running out into the environment.</p> |
