PURPOSE: Provided is tetrakis(tris(dimethyl amino)phosphoranylidenamino)phosphonium hydroxide used as a polymerization catalyst for alkylene oxide and produced by using (tris(dimethyl amino)phosphonioamino)tris(tris(dimethyl amino)phosphoranylidenamino)phosphonium dichloride. CONSTITUTION: The tetrakis(tris(dimethyl amino)phosphoranylidenamino)phosphonium hydroxide is produced by a process comprising the steps of: extracting the (tris(dimethyl amino)phosphonioamino)tris(tris(dimethyl amino)phosphoranylidenamino)phosphonium dichloride by adding hydrochloride water solution to a supply liquid containing tetrakis(tris(dimethyl amino)phosphoranylidenamino)phosphonium chloride and an organic solvent non-mixable with water, such as C6-C8 saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon, benzene, C7-C9 alkyl substituted aromatic hydrocarbon, and etc.; bringing an aqueous solution of the (tris(dimethyl amino)phosphonioamino)tris(tris(dimethyl amino)phosphoranylidenamino)phosphonium dichloride into contact with a hydroxyl group type ion exchange resin.
