<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To heighten an S/N ratio upon signal playback and to reliably read information of a recording layer to be reproduced even when multiple recording layers are layered. <P>SOLUTION: A projecting and recessed structure 4 having fine projecting and recessed parts each having a size 2/3 times as long as a wavelength of incident light or shorter is formed in a region (a mark part 6) to be a pit on a track line.
