NOVEL ASYMMETRICALLY BICIPITAL LIPID AND TUBULAR AGGREGATE FORMED BY USING THE SAME

An asymmetrically bicipital lipid which is represented by the general formula: R-NHCO-(CH2)n-COOH (I) wherein R represents a residue obtained by removing a reduced terminal hydroxyl group from an aldopyranose, n represents a number of 6 to 20; a hollow fine tubular aggregate formed from the asymmetrically bicipital lipid; and a method for preparing the tubular aggregate which comprises dispersing the asymmetrically bicipital lipid in the water having a pH of 2 to 8, heating the dispersion to a temperature of 80 to 100 DEG C to thereby dissolve the lipid, and then cooling slowly the resultant solution. The fine tubular aggregate has an outer diameter of 10 to 300 nm and a length of 0.3 to 10 mu m.
