摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing magnetic nanoparticles, by which high purity Fe<SB>3</SB>O<SB>4</SB>nanoparticles having narrow particle size distribution can be surely and efficiently manufactured in a good productivity. <P>SOLUTION: A suspension of magnetic nanoparticles comprising triiron tetroxide (Fe<SB>3</SB>O<SB>4</SB>) is obtained by emulsifying and dispersing an aqueous ferrous (II) chloride solution and an aqueous ascorbic acid(C<SB>6</SB>H<SB>8</SB>O<SB>6</SB>) solution in an organic solvent containing a surfactant, and then adding an alkali into the resulting dispersion so as to form ferrous (II) hydroxide and to oxidize the ferrous (II) hydroxide by radical oxygen generated from ascorbic acid by the catalytic action of the ferrous (II) hydroxide. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
