摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing layers of an edge area in a production of a photovoltaic module which is high in productivity on one hand, and high in insulating strength on the other hand. <P>SOLUTION: To produce a photovoltaic module 1, a transparent front electrode layer 3, a semiconductor layer 4, and a back electrode layer 5 are formed as functional layers on a transparent substrate 2, and the functional layers 3 to 5 in the edge area 10 of the module 1 are removed from the substrate 2 by a laser which emits infrared radiation, and then a back cover 12 is laid with an adhesive film 11 on the coated substrate 2. The removal rate at which the functional layers 3 to 5 are removed in the edge area 10 of the module 1 is at least 1000 mm<SP>2</SP>/s through an energy density of the laser beam focused on the functional layers 3 to 5 of at least 20 mJ/mm<SP>2</SP>and a pulse repetition rate of the laser of at least 1 kHz, with residual material remaining on the substrate 2 in the edge area 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
