Disclosed is an electric double layer capacitor comprising (A) a solvent containing a specific fluorine-containing cyclic carbonate, (B) a nonaqueous electrolyte solution containing an electrolyte salt containing a cyclic quaternary onium salt composed of a cyclic quaternary onium cation and PF6-, (CF3SO2)2N- or (C2F5SO2)2N-, and (C) a polarizable electrode. This electric double layer capacitor has high withstand voltage and excellent solubility in a wide range of solvents for electrolyte salt dissolution. |
