<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a protective cover 3 from rising by pressure of air enclosed between a plurality of dust lips 13, 14 of a rotary side sealing element 1 and the protective cover 3 closely contacted with this without using a caulking means. <P>SOLUTION: A sealing device comprises: the rotary side sealing element 1; a stationary side sealing element 2 having lips 24-26 arrange slidably in close contact with this rotary side sealing element 1; and the protective cover 3 press fitted to an elastic layer 23 formed in this stationary side sealing element 2 from the direction of the outer side B of the device and arranged slidably in close contact with the plurality of lips 13, 14 of the rotary side sealing element 1. A reverse stop projection 28 which permits this protective cover 3 to pass by easily being compressed at the time of press fitting of the protective cover 3, and regulates a movement of the protective cover 3 toward a direction coming out from an fitting surface 23a by interference with an engaged surface 31a formed in this protective cover 3, is formed on the device outside B side of the fitting surface 23a with the protective cover 3 in the elastic layer 23. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
