PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink cartridge capable of enhancing recording quality by solving the problem that an ink viscosity in a main tank is not uniform to an ink viscosity in a sub tank. SOLUTION: The ink cartridge 50 includes inside its case 52 a main tank 70, a pump 170, an atmosphere communication valve 110, and an ink supply valve 130. A tube 32 is connected to the ink supply valve 130. The tube 32 is connected with the sub tank 21. The pump 170 has a cylinder 171 and a piston 181. The cylinder 171 and an air layer 83 in the main tank 70 communicate with each other. The air is supplied or sucked when the pump 170 is driven, whereby a volume of the air layer 83 increases or decreases. A capacity of the pump 170 is equivalent to a total value of a capacity of the sub tank 21 and a capacity of the tube 32. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
