<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new power storage device, containingamorphous carbon which is different from active carbon in an anode. <P>SOLUTION: The power storage device 10 is constituted as an electric double-layer capacitor, where the anode 16, a separator 18, and a cathode 20 are laminated inside a cavity 14 by pressurized adhesion, and a nonaqueous electrolyte solution is injected so as to perform sealing. The anode 16 contains the amorphous carbon which indicates a broad peak for X-ray diffraction and indicates a maximum peak within a range, where 2θ is ≥20° and ≤23°, so as to perform power storage, by having contact with the nonaqueous electrolyte solution and allowing the amorphous carbon to attract ions contained in the nonaqueous electrolyte solution. A specific surface area is ≤120 m<SP>2</SP>/g in the amorphous carbon. The cathode 20 includes black carbon where a specific surface area is ≤100 m<SP>2</SP>/g. The power storage device has a voltage change bending point within a range of ≥2.0 V and ≤3.3 V at charging, so that the discharge capacity per unit volume is large. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
