1. A method in a network node for allocating communication resources , the method comprising:
selecting, from a set of available Physical Resource Blocks (PRBs), a single PRB for use in transmitting to the network node a scheduling request (SR); allocating to each user equipment (UE) included in a set of two or more UEs the selected single PRB, such that each of said UEs may transmit an SR to the network node on the same single PRB; receiving an SR transmitted by one of said UEs on the allocated single PRB; and in response to receiving the SR: a) determining which UE in the set of two or more UEs is the highest prioritized UE; b) selecting the determined highest prioritized UE; and c) granting access to the selected UE. |
